The concept of scarcity (amv)

This is what I understand to be the concept of scarcity:

Scarcity is an offspring of the mind and originates from the divergence between man’s actual being and his imaginations of preferable states of existence. Scarcity, therefore, stems from the confrontation of vision, reason, and reality. To overcome scarcity is the sole motive of human action. Man is driven exclusively by his undetermined imaginations of the future. Non-action implies that the mind cannot imagine any situation to be in any way better than the current. Such a perfect moment (or "Nirvana," to use Robbins’ term) is the only possible reason for human rest. Therefore, we may say that the ultimate goal of action is betterment by change. Scarcity is thus a subjective phenomenon.
